The new wave of oceanographers: Md Saiful Islam
PhD student at the crossroads of remote sensing, coastal hydrodynamics and numerical modelling.
PhD student at the crossroads of remote sensing, coastal hydrodynamics and numerical modelling.
Internal solitary waves impact physical and biological processes in the upper ocean, as well as human activities with potential impacts on navigation and coastal infrastructures. For the first time, thanks to the SWOT satellite, it was possible to observe their signature in sea surface height. This allowed researchers to study the interactions of internal solitary waves with eddies on the Amazon Shelf, leading to a better understanding of their complex interactions.
Physical oceanographer focusing on the development of reconstruction methods of sea surface height (SSH) from satellite altimetry measurements.
Post-doctoral researcher investigating tidal dynamics across the land-ocean zone.
PhD student working with a new Lagrangian methodology aimed at reconstructing high resolution SST (Sea Surface Temperature) submesoscale fronts with the ultimate goal of estimating the strain field at high resolution.
